A. Christie's "The A.B.C Murders"

My group ( me and Sierra Moment) chose the genre Mystery/Crime to focus on. We decided to start from the past works of mystery fiction and past mystery authors, and work our way to present. The first book we chose to read is the “ The A.B.C Murders” by Agatha Christie.

The A.B.C murders is surrounded by a killer who is killing their victims in alphabetical order, based on their first name. For example his first victim was Alice Ascher of Andover. Before the killer commits the crime they send a letter to detective Hercule Poirot. Poirot is one the detective Agatha Christie uses in her mystery books. He has been in numerous books of Christies and in this one is older and has been doing less detective work. When he receives the first letter, the local cops and him does not take it serious and dismisses it. It was until Alice Ascher was found murder in her own newspaper and cigarette shop. Poirot is now on the hunt for the unknown killer not knowing he is really searching for a serial killer who is not stopping at the letter A.

This book fit our criteria because it was less than 300 pages and does not include romance or teen drama, which Sierra Moment hates. Reading this book was new for me because I am used to reading romance and stories I can relate to. I am used to watching mystery movies and shows on television, but this is the first time I am reading one.
