Treasure Island comparable to Anime?
While reading Treasure Island and I also read a lot of other things on the side, one of the things that is read is manga, the japanese comic book. One manga series is titles One Piece, which is a pirate series. One character Luffy decides to become a pirate in order to find the legendary One Piece treasure after being influenced by another famous pirate. Along the way he meets and finds people who are also interested in finding the treasure too. It reminds me of Treasure Island because some of the habits that the characters have in Treasure Island such as drinking and having that give them problems also give problems to the crew in this show. Like how Billy Bones eventually having a stroke after drinking so much, but then told not to drink or he'll die like one of the characters in One Piece. One character Zolo, is a swordsman, one of his habits is that he often finds himself getting lost after being told sometimes not to go anywhere, and ends up in a situation that causes the crew to have to get into fights with a other gangs and the navy. Another symbol is the ship in both stories, the Hispaniola is very important to Jim Hawkins like how the Going Merry is to Luffy and their crew. After extensive damage to the ship which actually had its own spirit, it was given a viking funeral symbolizing the relationship between the crew and their ship. Another topic that reminds me of Treasure Island is that the crew can find itself in fights against random people that starts a bigger conflict. Everyone now and then, the crew can expect itself to fight other people, if one of their crew is harmed, they will fly into a fury and fight the enemy head on. That kind of teamwork, while everyone trying to achieve their dreams connects me to Treasure Island.

I reads manga too. Onepiece is a great series. Full of fantacy and advanture. In fact there are too many adcantures. The stories about every single character's background was well depicted. The action was nice very fictional.
ReplyDeleteThe downfall of Onepiece is the story seem to never end. One enemy down comes three more, where the bad guys just keep showing up. Unlike Treasure Island where the story mainly take place on an island. This manga series take place over countless islands.
Very popular series with 400+ chapters.
