paranormal activity film review

I do not really watch horror films all that often. I can barely remember the last horror movie I have watched, and the majority of so called “horror movies” usually ends up in stupid comedic terms. Well one movie I can remember seeing in the theaters was “Paranormal Activity.” Everyone was highly anticipating it to be the scariest movie of the year. Now was it the scariest? No, it definitely was not. The movie took place in a suburban area, with a couple living in their own house alone. Well technically they were not allow for there were demonic creatures that haunted them mainly at night. As the audience, we were anticipating horror scenes, but did we really get that? Not so much.

This movie was made on a very low budget, costing only a few thousand, but it still brought in several millions of dollars of profit, which was surprising for in my opinion I do not think the movie was that great. I actually did not think the movie was good at all, a second and third part came out, I did not hesitate to see it.

“Paranormal Activity” did not scare many people when I looked around the theater the majority seemed to be fine, with having a low budget I don’t think the movie makers were able to produce such strong effects of horror.

However, they did depict some typical horror, like the door screeching and other scary noises that make you go paranoid. The demon would make sounds, even though he was invisible footprints were left on the floor. He would also physically engage, by pulling the girl out of bed and around the house.

In the end I would not recommend this movie for it was not interesting at all, it seemed to never end and was just boring.
