We Were Soldiers Once… And Young
Watching the movie while reading the book, is a true comparison of how well the director's job did, in turning the book in to a motion picture. The novel it self was written by and from the eyes of the Lt. Col. Hal Moore and the first major American battle in Vietnam. The reason why he wrote this book is to inform people back home the true horror of war and what is like to experience it. Many deaths and losses were accumulated during the Vietnam War. Even though the novel only takes place in a certain battle zone, soldiers that were once young retell the tails of the horror that went on in those battlefields. The book in depths describes Hal Moore's moment with his family and his fellow soldiers. The movie depicts that to a exact degree and also how the opposing foces' leader react to Hal Moore's commands.
