Robin Hood, Robbing from the rich and giving to the poor
I have started reading Robin Hood and made my way deep into the story. I did not realize many different things about the character of Robin Hood and his merry men. I did not realize many things about the personality of his character and the weaknesses that he possesses. For example at some point in the beginning he began to recruit people, I began to realize that Robin Hood is very human as opposed to what I had perceived him to be. He can outdo people in contests and can outwit the sheriff of Nottinghamshire. He has also been able to get through situations that require thinking and wit to overcome such as getting rid of information that would make himself easily identifiable to the public and his bounty. Once he had tricked the sheriff and stole an original copy of his information and the picture and ran off into the forest with it. We find that he can be physically weak and he was, when depicted in his fight against Will Scarlet. He lost that fight badly and actually gave up in the fight. This made him seem more human in my eyes. For years I had always thought that Robin Hood was unbeatable and here with these few stories as well as what happened with the Miller, he had survived a beating a human could barely survived which seemed to be about two or three beatings in a row. But so far the reading has not been so hard, even though the language is a little old, it is still an enjoyable text.
